Welcome to my teaching portfolio! I hold a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix, with (pending) certification in Secondary English (grade 7-12). My previous educational pursuits include a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Eastern Washington University; June 2004); I have also enjoyed work ranging from in-store customer service to call center representation to office environments, all very people-oriented fields. I have a keen interest in immersing myself in diverse populations, and have previously worked with struggling learners, GLBT teens, AP students, and adults, in both public and private settings. My personal teaching philosophy centers around the concept of synthesis, wherein students show that they have retained information by explaining it back in their own words.
